Message of the Principal

Welcome to the Prime School Colleges of Portugal

It is with much enthusiasm that we embrace this new stage in the life of our schools, which results in the consolidation of our Tri-lingual Educational Project collaborating with the University of Cambridge in its international curriculum for students between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age, with the DELE of the Cervantes Institute in its Spanish International side of Instruction, and under the tutelage of the Portuguese Ministry of Education.

We began this trajectory four years ago at the Colégio Infanta D. Maria de Portugal in Sintra and we have evolved our project to what it is today: a trilingual educational project in which students from 3 to 18 years, pre-school to secondary school, can develop their competency to become efficient and sensitive citizens, active participants in a more tolerant and cooperative world, informed and creative problem solvers up to the challenges of the 21st century.

Today the Colégio Infanta D. Maria de Portugal in Sintra boasts 150 students and it is with much pride that we are investing in the reopening of a space that was a classic in the 1960’s- O Colégio da Cidadela. This project is the result of the arduous and hard work of all involved.

We offer a stimulating curriculum in a multi cultural context, geared likewise towards Portuguese as well as foreign students with a view, apart from teaching and educating, to challenging the curiosity, intelligence and creativity of our students for independence of thought and action with the capacity for reflection, critical analysis, self motivation and pro-action in a rapidly changing and globally interconnected world. I highly recommend that you watch the video “Did You Know?” (To the right, double click to see in full screen) it is a video of 2010 but it explains the reality in a superior way.

It is this that we take as our Motto: Shaping Citizens of an Interconnected World.
